Snowbird is next!!
Northstar was fun!! The conditions were far from "epic". But, the fun and festivities were all there. Thanks to all that made the journey to Lake Tahoe. It was good to see my Ski Club friends again. Snowbird is only 18 days away! I called the resort today. There's still rooms available at our NAASF rate. Not a lot of rooms though. If you haven't booked, do it today!! Something else to do today.... book your lodging for our No-Brainer!! Reservations MUST be made by Saturday, January 21. Reserve now then, pay the full amount at checkout. Payments for lift tickets, rentals, lessons and shuttle arrangements to and from DRO and the resort must be made by February 5. More details to follow.
No Brainers are fun...you won't want to miss out!!
The best way to get to Durango, is to fly directly into DRO. Frontier, United and, US Airways all have service from DIA, or PHX. For those people flying into ABQ and/or with non-airline friends and then, driving to the resort. Here's an idea I'd like to float out to you....
I'll try to secure transportation for all of those interested in traveling together. I think it would be better than several groups getting their own rental car, only to go to the same place.
I'll need some action from you. And, there will be some caveats attached...
If you're interested in group transportation from ABQ to Durango Mountain Resort (and return), please send me an email president@swaskiclub.com. In the email, tell me the dates you want to travel, possible arrival/departure times and, how many are in your party.
With this info, I'll try to organize transportation. The caveats.... You must prepay, and this would be non-refundable. It might be as simple as renting a few multi-passenger vans. Send me the info, and I'll try to figure things out.
Now, back to Snowbird...
There's snow on the way!!! They've figured out that, if everyone holds their breath, The Tram can hold nearly 150 people, "Mardi Gras" is the Wednesday night theme party. I plan on snowboarding in Alta. And, they always treat us good at The Bird!!!
Our team dinner will be in a banquet room in The Cliff Lodge. The costs will be around $30.00 per person, plus cash bar. I'll send out the menu and additional details very soon.
You don't have to attend the team dinners. But, if you do indicate that you will be attending when you register. You need to honor that commitment. Less than half of those that checked "yes" to team dinner when registering at Northstar actually attended. Our ski club lost money because of this :(
Please folks, use the RSVP link on our web site now... it's very important for us to have an accurate count. I'll never pre-pay for a team dinner again. And, if you say yes to team dinner, and don't attend or, don't cancel in a timely manner. You will be asked to pay for your share. I believe that's only fair.
I need an accurate count for team dinner by Friday, please RSVP by then....it's important :)
Now, you need to reserve for Snowbird and Durango, email me about transportation to/from ABQ, and... RSVP, RSVP, RSVP!!! Did I mention that it's important???
Thanks, and see you soon!!
Woody
